This is the first via ferrata in Hungary. It is 150 meters long with an elevation gain of 50 meters. The greatest challenges lie in the first 5 meters of the route. After the "Eliminator" (*Selejtező*) section, the ascent becomes gentler and easier; then, following the short "Ivy Traverse" (*Borostyán Haránt*) and crossing a bridge over a small ravine, we reach the "First Steep Section" (*Első Felszökés*). Upon reaching the top of the ridge, the most striking part of the "Siegers' Route" (*Ostromlók Útja*) unfolds: the long traverse across the "Smooth Slabs" (*Sima Táblák*). This section poses a challenge for most beginners due to the yawning drop below and the stretch that appears "unclimbable." Yet, it involves "only" 30–40 meters of technical climbing, concluding with a short, steep ascent. Afterward, we reach the junction with the Zoltán Tálos Memorial Route (marked by the summit register box); then, passing a small wall and a rock block, we arrive at the Summit Ridge (*Csúcsgerinc*). Upon detaching from the via ferrata cable, do not immediately turn left onto the beaten path; instead, continue along the ridge as far as the "Rock Climbing Cliff" (*Sziklamászó Meredély*). Following the descent path, we return to the gorge via the Jewish Cemetery.

Rental is available, which is near the parking lot.

Frequently asked
questions

The official difficulty rating of this route is C. The community rating fully matches the official difficulty.

The route has a difficulty rating of C and is relatively short (120 m). We do not recommend it for complete beginners, but sporty beginners accompanied by an experienced climber (on a rope) can manage it.

This is a shorter trip. The climb takes approximately 50 min, the approach 15 min and the descent 15 min. The whole activity takes a little over 80 minutes. Ideal for a sporty morning or afternoon.

The secured section (steel cable) measures 120 meters. During the climb, you will overcome an elevation gain of 50 meters.

The route is physically demanding. The combination of difficulty C, length 120 m and elevation gain 50 m means you will spend more than 50 min on the rock and will need good upper-body strength.

The essentials are a certified via ferrata set (energy absorber), climbing helmet, climbing harness and sturdy footwear. Via ferrata gloves are also strongly recommended. Due to the difficulty level C, we recommend bringing a resting sling for safer and more comfortable breaks.
